The Four Beasts (Empires – Kings) – Daniel Chapter 7

In Daniel Chapter 7, the prophet has another alarming vision. Yet, it is essentially the same as the statue of Nebuchadnezzar only with more detail. The vision presents the same four kingdoms that will arise on the earth and persecute the Holy People (the Jews). Again, as in the first vision, the Roman Empire and the Empire of Antichrist at the end of the age are pictured as one.

“I was looking in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea (Mediterranean). And four great Beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another.” Daniel 7:2-3

The Beast of the Revelation is the same as that of Daniel. That is why John gives so little explanation. Students of Scripture were expected to know these things. The book of Daniel was and is the “Revelation” of the “Old Testament” (Mt 24:15).

“And he stood on the sand of the seashore. And I saw a Beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.” Rev 13:1 “

Thus he said: ‘The fourth Beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth, which will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth and tread it down and crush it. As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings. He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.”  Dan 7:23-25

“And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the Beast for one hour. These have one purpose and they give their power and authority to the Beast. These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.” Rev 17:12-14

Little Horn

In Daniel Chapter 7, verse 8, a Little Horn rises up and subdues three of the 10 kings. At this time, we can only speculate as to who and what these three kingdoms are that are subdued by the Antichrist. Perhaps they are the Benelux Union countries of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. These countries between them share the European Union headquarters and government as well as the home of the UN’s International Court of Justice. Also, since Switzerland is the only European country not a member of the EU, and the capital of the banking system, perhaps the Antichrist will operate from Switzerland and take over the Benelux countries which would also be part of his capital.
